Settlement building in Fallout 4 really isn’t my cup of tea – I’m content with a mattress on the deck, a power armour at the door and a crafting bench in the corner. If I could make ‘em like this though – if I could transport BioShock Infinite’s floating city of Columbia and plant it smack back in the middle of (or above, maybe?) the Commonwealth – well, I’d probably enjoy settlement building that wee bit more.
Don’t listen to me, though, loads of folks are great at base-building. Here’s a roundup of the best.
YouTuber GPGShepard’s “Fallout 4: Bioshock Infinite Columbia themed settlement mod” is really quite something. From its iconic towering lighthouse, to its shops lined with Quantum Nuka Cola bottles posing as Gene Tonics and Vigors; from a pensive Booker DeWitt lookalike staring out at its lightbox hot air balloons, to the fact that the whole blooming place is floating in the air – this is wonderful wasteland interpretation of Infinite’s lofty setting. Here, heave a peek for yourself:
As you might expect, this BioShallout beast is comprised of a hotch potch of other mods – all of which are outlined in this post on GirlPlaysGame.
So, I guess there is always a lighthouse, a man, a city.
