Fallout: New Vegas Review

Would you buy at full price or wait for a Fallout: New Vegas sale?

I'd buy it right now.

I have already purchased the GOTY edition three times, though never at full-price. I would have at the time, but I was still having trouble running Oblivion on my rig, never mind FO3/NV.

Now, I'm running The Witcher: Wild Hunt with ultra graphics @ 1440p. heh

For how great this game is, it's worth full price because of the replayability of it. It also has great DLC and mods making it worth a lot of your time and money.

Would you recommend any good Fallout: New Vegas mods?

Project Nevada is the only one off the top of my head.

AWOP, with the MoMod attachment gives you quests, new dungeons, new gear and weapons, and the MoMod adds strange and powerful new monsters in the game and in the AWOP dungeons. Hellbeasts FTW!

After playing the game for so long and modding the hell out of it, i would recommend MCM and Project Nevada because those are the most essential for almost every mod you will play.

How have Obsidian Entertainment made Fallout: New Vegas feel like a Western?

Yes

Pretty good actually. A lot of weapons feel western in the vanilla game, but once branching off to some other DLC (Old World Blues) It comes to the end of using revolvers and varmint rifles.

I've never finished the game. hehehe. Hundreds of hours in it, but the end bores me.

Almost everything is dead and I don't think there might be one place that has been untouched by the Fallout.

How good is the Fallout: New Vegas story?

78

Honestly, the vanilla story is pretty great, but I wouldn't say it's the best. It's about a mailman who gets his package stolen and he kills people to get it back. DLC however, have great stories. (Looking at you Lonesome Road)

How much freedom does Fallout: New Vegas give you?

Some places are blocked by invisible barriers and some doors be inaccessible make me sad. But hey, if you have 100 lockpick or 100 hacking, you can pretty much go anywhere.

Does the setting of Fallout: New Vegas feel original?

It feels different than Fallout 4 and Fallout 3. It feels of course, like Vegas.

How fair are loot drops in Fallout: New Vegas?

78

They are pretty fair in the sense of level wise. Once you get everything you need for the whole game, it's pretty much bottlecaps and ammo that you will pick up most of the game but sometimes you might not even need that.

What strategies have you learned to survive in Fallout: New Vegas?

78

Sneak is fun, wearing outfits to disguise yourself is fun, lockpick and hacking are the only ways to get around easier and faster, and mods are very nice to have.

How open is Fallout: New Vegas to explore?

Most places are closed off but since it's an open world game, there are probably places I haven't even visited yet.

How much fun are the weapons in Fallout: New Vegas?

78

Almost every weapon if fun in that game that can do damage. Shotguns and Rocket Launchers are the best. Almost all weapons from DLC are the greatest because they are just so different.

On most low-end PC's, you can run this game pretty good a 30+ fps on low settings.

How good are the graphics in Fallout: New Vegas?

78

Since it was a game made in 2010, they were not the best, but if you can look past graphics like all good games, you will learn to appreciate them.
