Farming Simulator 17 will release at the end of this year, more info next week

Farming sim 17

The neverending rise of simulators for vaguely mundane tasks continues in 2016 with Farming Simulator ’17. Focus Home are distributing it from Giants Software, and they’ll be showing it off at an event this week where we’ll get to see some footage. They’re promising new features as well as a prettier game for the 2016 edition of the original tractor driver, but for the moment there’s just a couple of quotes from relevant people to show ahead of a release towards the end of the year.

Not the only simulator we’ll see hiting the upcoming PC games list, we expect.

Thomas Frey, vice-president of Giants, had this to say about the announcement and their partnership with Focus Home:

“It’s been a pleasure working with Focus throughout all these years. This partnership is the water on the seed that made Farming Simulator grow into the global phenomenon it is today. Each time we release a new version together we reach more people, and we look forward to expanding this reach even further in the coming years.”

WhileCédric Lagarrigue, president at the publisher, reconfirmed that the game would be coming this year:

“Farming Simulator is a one of a kind story in the video game industry. Years ago, we imagined a unique destiny for this game and Giants Software, their creators. It is with great satisfaction that we succeed in reaching all of our objectives. There are still a lot of beautiful pages to write for Farming Simulator, and it starts right now with the simultaneous release of the game on PC and consoles at the end of the year.”

You can still grab the ’15 edition for 70% off after a weekend deal, for roughly the next three hours, on Steam. There’s a whole batch of DLC that comes with it if you like, but the normal version is fairly cheap at £5.99 / $7.49 / €7.49.
