Final Fantasy XIV gets Omega raid dungeons and more in Stormblood patch 4.01

Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood received its first patch since it was released a month ago. The main attraction to update 4.01 is the new Omega raid which is part of the new endgame meta. In addition to the raid, there are new items, minions, mounts, and quests available.

After its rebirth, Final Fantasy XIV made our list of the best MMOs on PC.

The Omega raid introduces a new dungeon, Omega: Deltascape. You have to be level 70 with either a Disciple of War or Magic class and have a combined item level of at least 295 or above. You must also have completed “The Hunt for Omega” quest before you qualify for the new raid.

This raid has slots for eight players and a time limit of 90 minutes. The reward for successfully completing the Omega raid are tokens which you can use to unlock the new line of Deltascape gear also added with this update.

Some attributes were adjusted for some gear, but a specific list isn’t available yet. There are also new mounts, including one that looks to be MagiTek Armor, as well as new minions. You can also now obtain yellow crafters’ and gatherer’s scrip upon reaching level 70. You can exchange these scrips for Rowena’s tokens and exchange those tokens for new crafter and gatherer items at Rhalgr’s Reach scrip exchange.

As with any FFXIV patch, there has also been a host of bug fixes in Update 4.01. For the full details of these fixes, as well as a bit more detail on the changes stated above, you can check out the full patch notes on Square Enix’s website.
