As Fortnite chapter one fell into the abyss, leaving players very confused indeed, we have been given very few details of the game’s next steps. The only clues we have now are the numbers that the black hole revealed and some clever fans have spent their time decoding them (via Fortnite Intel).
As players have watched the black hole, the numbers 11, 146, 15, 62, 87, 14, 106, 2, and 150 have all appeared and the theory everyone is running with matches these numbers to the Visitor’s tape recordings. If you line up these numbers with the words in that recording, a message appears: ‘I was not alone, others were outside the loop’.
It’s all very mysterious and quite a lot of fun for fans while they wait for the next chapter of the game to start, but what does the message mean? ‘Others’ could mean us, but why is our existence a surprise to what we assume is The Visitor? Who is the message being sent to? Where has the island gone? There are a lot of unanswered questions and not many answers at the moment but that doesn’t stop people from speculating. Of course, Epic hasn’t confirmed that this message is what the numbers are intended to mean, but it would be a monumental coincidence for them to spell out a coherent sentence in this way.
The Visitor recordings are perplexing by themselves. The six short clips could be found around the island and strung together became a diary for the Visitor to listen to once they get ‘looped’ and forget everything. Perhaps once Fortnite comes back we’ll have an answer to what the loop is.
Fortnite leaker Thooming has claimed more numbers will appear and the message will eventually read ‘I was not alone. Others were outside the loop. This was not calculated. The zero point is now inevitable’. We have no idea if these words are really going to be the next revealed, or even how long the black hole will remain, so fans are still hypothesising what could come next.
