Fortnite Season 6 has been delayed

The Fortnite Season 6 release date has been pushed back, but Epic's offering bonus XP to make up for it

fortnite season 6 release date

The beginning of Fortnite Season 6 has been delayed until the end of next week. That’s your bad news. The good news, however, is that Epic is offering a bonus 400% match XP all weekend, to help you get your last few battle pass rewards.

Season 5 was originally thought to be coming to an end on Thursday, a week after the release of the week 10 challenges, but that date was changed to Tuesday 24. In a tweet posted earlier today, however, the official Fortnite account stated that “Season 6 is now dropping from the Battle Bus on September 27.”

For those of you who might not have a calendar at your fingertips, that’s Thursday next week, meaning you’ve got an extra couple of days to wait for the end of Season 5. To make up for that delay, however, Epic also stated that “from now until September 24 at 8 AM ET (1200 GMT),” players will get “an additional 400% match XP.” That should be all you need to unlock the last few tiers on your battle pass.

Quite what Fortnite Season 6 will have to offer, we don’t yet know. It’s likely to have something to do with Loot Lake, however, which has become a giant purple trampoline after Kevin the Cube dissolved into it earlier this week.

If you’re still some way away from your shiny Ragnarok skin, you can check out our Fortnite week 10 challenges guide, which should provide some clues to help you tick off those last few tasks. And if you have the tier 100 skin, you can still earn plenty of new XP to level it up before the season comes to an end.
