Ninja breaks his own streaming record with Fortnite tournament

Ninja has broken his own Twitch live-streaming record, drawing 680,000 concurrent viewers during his Las Vegas Fortnite tournament (via Forbes).

Twitch streamer, and Fortnite royalty, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins held his own tournament for the immensely-popular battle royale last weekend at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in the Esports Arena Las Vegas.

The event, Ninja Las Vegas 18, seen the Twitch streamer play nine games of Fortnite with a mix of semi-pros, fans, and influencers – awarding $2,500 for every win and $2,500 to every person who managed to kill him.

At one point, the live-streamed event drew 680,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, breaking Ninja and Drake’s previous record of 628,000 concurrent viewers.

Ninja earned four top-10 finishes and one win during the tournament. He ultimately shelled out $50,000 in prize money, donating the money from his one victory to an Alzheimer’s charity of his choice.
