Genesis Alpha One is a roguelike that blends base building with strategic FPS action

Genesis Alpha One

Indie publishing label Team17 have partnered with German developers Radiation Blue to release Genesis Alpha One, a strategic FPS with a twist.

That’s another one for the upcoming PC games list.

Built in Unreal 4, Genesis Alpha One puts you in the shoes of a Genesis starship captain in the depths of space. There you need to build and manage your vessel, farm resources, and fight off alien invaders, all while exploring the universe.

The story revolves around your usual corrupt corporations and a humanity on the brink of extinction. It’s up to you to find a new home for human DNA, so you can seed a new world with our planet-wrecking species.

Radiation Blue is made up from developers who have worked on Hitman: Blood Money, Hitman: Contracts, Velvet Assassin, Spec Ops: The Line, SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars, SpellForce 3 and The Settlers.

“We are very excited to work with Team17 on Genesis Alpha One,” said Sascha Jungnickel, creative director of Radiation Blue. “We highly appreciate Team17’s passion for games, their transparent developer friendly procedures and of course their exciting portfolio, that we’re now a part of.”

Debbie Bestwick, MBE, Team17’s CEO added, “Radiation Blue are an exciting new studio made up of incredibly talented individuals, each with a great track record in triple-A games development. Genesis Alpha One offers gamers a unique blend of genres in a stunning sci-fi setting and we are thrilled to be able to help them on their journey.”
