Get over here: Mortal Kombat X announced

Mortal Kombat X

The co-creator of Mortal Kombat, Ed Boon, has officially confirmed the existence of a new Mortal Kombat game. Dubbed Mortal Kombat X and developed by NetherRealm Studios, it will be the tenth iteration in the series. With the announcement comes a cinematic trailer showing off a brutal brawl between Sub-Zero and Scorpion.

Warning: expect broken bones and gore as per usual.

The trailer confirms a 2015 release window. Other than that not much else is know apart from a small snippet from the video description:

“Fuelled by next-gen technology, Mortal Kombat X combines unparalleled, cinematic presentation with dynamic gameplay to create an unprecedented Kombat experience.”

The last Mortal Kombat took over two years to finally make its way to the PC, but an Amazon listing spotted by MP1st suggests it may launch on PC as well as other platforms. We can probably expect more information come E3, but for the time being it would be wise to keep an eye on Ed Boon’s twitter feed.
