You can pre-load Ghost Recon Breakpoint on PC now

Ubisoft offers details on pre-loading, server launch timings, file sizes, and more

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is just around the corner. With the open beta having gone live last week and the full release date of October 4 fast approaching, Ubisoft is offering a bunch of launch info you’ll want to know ready for when it arrives – covering pre-loading, file sizes, server start timings, plus more. Best of all, pre-loading of digital copies is available on PC right now.

Ubisoft says on its website that pre-loading via its Uplay platform and the Epic Games Store is live to those who have purchased a digital copy. Note, though, that even if you’ve been getting stuck into the beta versions you’ll still need to download the full game – and as Ubisoft advises, you’ll probably want to get rid of them from your system to make some space for the new game.

Speaking of space, the pre-load file size for the PC version on both UPlay and the Epic Store is 41.36 GB, and happily, you won’t need to worry about a Day One patch following this – the pre-load includes it. Here are the Ghost Recon Breakpoint system requirements if you want to know what you’ll need to get the game up and running.

If you bought one of the qualifying editions of the game – like the Gold Edition – you’ll also get to jump into the action three days earlier than the Standard release date – so, on October 1.

The Ghost Recon Breakpoint online servers are due to go live on September 30 (11 AM UTC) for all platforms. If you’ve bought a physical copy of the game or pre-loaded before this, you’ll be able to load up the game but won’t be able to play just yet.

Once the servers are up and running, players with physical copies will be able to jump in and play, but those pre-loading digitally will need to wait for them to open in their regions – you can check these in the Early and Regular Access charts Ubisoft’s provided.
