Ghost Recon Wildlands trailer is about stopping a Bolivian tyrant

E3 2016 Ghost Recon Wildlands

We got a glimpse at the actual story behind Ghost Recon Wildlands during the opening of Ubisoft’s E3 conference. This included a new cinematic trailer for the game, introducing what happens when all of Bolivia is taken over by one drug lord, giving you a one-to-four player massive open world to explore.

Everything we know about the Ghost Recon Wildlands release date and much more.

This was shown across three trailers. First, the basic gameplay trailer, showing a little bit of the cinematic as well. It’s fast, but it gets the message of the game across – take down the bad guys, get out, be a bit of a badass.

Next, here’s a bunch of folks pretending to be a disorganised group of mates trying to take down a druglord. And RPing a bit. I love you, Ubisoft, I just accept that this also isn’t reality. This is a full playthrough, so settle in.

Finally, the cinematic trailer introduces Bolivia, its new tyrannical ruler and some other characters.

Overall a strong showing for Ubisoft’s finisher from last year. It’s still a little ways off, but it’s looking good. Hopefully we’ll get some hands-on time in the coming days.
