A PvP mode for Ghost Recon Wildlands has been revealed as a 4v4 arena game, seeing two teams of Ghosts square off to find out who is best at invisibly taking out the other.

The details of the Ghost War mode are explained in this new trailer:

Unlike the main game, in Ghost Recon’s PvP mode you’ll have to pick from set classes – “including Scout, Sniper, Tank, and more.” Naturally, each class will have its strengths and weaknesses, which are brought out not just in the equipment they wield but also the specialist perks they can employ.

The emphasis seems to be on team play as you only have one life in the arena and should you choose not to revive a teammate you best hope it’s for a good reason.

Ubisoft have added new features to the game that fit the style of Ghost War, such as suppression and sound markers. So, when you open fire you best do it with good reason as the sound will be highlighted to the enemy team. Likewise, your best use to your teammates may not be in getting a kill, but in locking down the enemy team with suppressing fire while they find a better angle on the enemy.

The free mode will be released as an open beta later this summer.
