Now that you can get GTA 5 free, catch up on our best Grand Theft Auto reads

Essential reading for Grand Theft Auto newcomers and old hands

Grand Theft Auto 5 is currently free on Epic Store. The latest in Epic’s weekly giveaways, and originally released all the way back in 2013, you might think there wasn’t anyone left on the planet who hadn’t yet played it – but apparently not. It’s proving so popular that it’s stopping people play Fortnite. (Fortnite, if you haven’t heard of it, is another reasonably popular game about skydiving.)

If you’re one of the people out there who has yet to experienced the joy of Michael, Trevor, and Brad’s extensive misadventures, you’re in for a treat. And even if you already have, there’s no harm in diving back in for a second – or third – helping. After all of that’s in the bag there’s GTA Online beyond the main story to enjoy, too – it’s a game that keeps on giving.

With all that in mind, then, we’ve collected together some of our favourite pieces on GTA V and GTA Online from over the years, including guides, features, and some very interesting interviews.

So sit back, relax, and remember: crime doesn’t pay (though getting GTA V for free definitely counts as a steal).

Why would anyone play a cop in GTA 5 RP?

“I didn’t really think of girls as being cops, and I was always kind of thin and wiry. In addition to that, I also have juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, so I didn’t think it would be manageable or possible to meet my goal. But, after roleplaying as a cop, speaking with other officers, and doing a lot of the beginning process and filling out the physical requirements, I discovered that I can do it.” Read the full story.
