How to get the Grounded 2 spinning wheel recipe

Much of your survival comes down to the quality of your gear, and a Grounded 2 spinning wheel is needed to craft some of the best items.

The Grounded 2 spinning wheel sits in a players base.

How do you get the Grounded 2 spinning wheel recipe? Fans of the original game may be quick to craft the spinning wheel, knowing just how important it can be. If you're new to the series, though, don't sleep on this incredibly useful item.

Not only is the spinning wheel required to craft Grounded 2 silk rope, an essential material in some of the best recipes in the crafting game, but it also saves precious resources by reducing the quantity of ingredients required in making crude rope. Here's what you need to craft one and how to unlock the Grounded 2 spinning wheel recipe.

The recipe unlocks for web fiber, including the Grounded 2 spinning wheel recipe.

How to unlock the Spinning Wheel

To unlock the Grounded 2 spinning wheel, you must analyze web fiber in a Resource Analyzer. This unlocks the spinning wheel recipe in your building options.

To place the spinning wheel, open the construction radial with B on keyboard / Up on Xbox controller D-pad. Select the spinning wheel, and place the blueprint where you want the item to be. Don't worry too much, you can move buildings at any time.

With the following resources in hand, press and hold E on keyboard / X on Xbox while aiming at the blueprint to fully erect the spinning wheel. If you only have some of the required items, you can partially build the structure by pressing the same button and return to complete it later.

To craft a spinning wheel, you need the following ingredients:

  • 2x Acorn Tops
  • 4x Clay
  • 4x Red Ant Parts
  • 3x Sap
  • 4x Crude Rope

The most difficult of these to find are clay and acorn tops. The best place to look for clay is around water, where you may find the reddish-brown clumps. You can gather most clay using your level one Omni-Shovel, but some tougher deposits require the level two upgrade. For acorns, take a look at our Grounded 2 acorn locations guide.

With that, you can now build a spinning wheel in your Grounded 2 base, start crafting useful weapons, and save on valuable resources in the survival game. In fact, you need the spinning wheel to craft a Mosquito Needle, one of the best Grounded 2 weapons, so we'd recommend getting one set up ASAP.
