Guild Wars 2’s next Living World story is The Icebrood Saga

The Icebrood Saga heads north as players take on dragons, a dangerous cult, and Funko Pops

Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2’s Living World story arrives next month. The new narrative, The Icebrood Saga, kicks off on September 17 with the release of an introductory prologue episode titled Bound with Blood.

The Icebrood Saga follows on from the defeat of Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik, taking players beneath the ice of the Far Shiverpeaks, where an ancient cult is rising from a lengthy slumber. As well as introducing a whole new story, the update heralds the arrival of a bunch of new features; Strike Missions are ten-player boss battles, somewhere between a raid and a meta event. Speaking of bosses, there are plenty of new ones to take care of, and new Masteries to help you do so.

The arrival of the new chapter also means new rewards. Guild Wars 2’s first expansion, Heart of Thorns, will be made available for free to any player who already owns Path of Fire, starting today. And if you already own Heart of Thornes, you’ll get an exclusive Veteran’s pack filled with goodies.

But that’s not all, as plenty of new content is coming to Guild Wars 2 from outside the game. Most exciting is a collaboration with Dark Horse Comics, which will see a 20th anniversary art book release in 2020.

As if that weren’t enough, Hot Topic and Insert Coin will both be stocking clothes inspired by the game, and Razer will release new mouse mats and phone cases. Perhaps most cursed of all, however, will be the release of Funko Pops designed after Aurene, Palawa Joko, and Rytlock Brimstone.
