New .hack//G.U. Last Recode trailer attempts to answer the question of what the G.U. stands for

It was announced just over a month ago that .hack//G.U. Last Recode would be coming to PC as well as PS4. Now, we’ve got a brand new trailer for the 15th anniversary of the first .hack//G.U. game.

We could probably make a list of the best ‘kids playing an MMO save the real world’ games, but for now, here’s the best RPGs on PC

Feast your eyes upon it up above. It asks perhaps the most important question: what the hell does that title mean? The G.U., specifically. Geek’s Utopia is perhaps the best answer the trailer offers.

In case you, like me, had no idea what .hack//G.U. Last Recode was, it’s a series of action-RPGs from the PS2 era that have been collated into one game. It’s all a part of the .hack series as a whole, which, from what I understand, is a series about people playing an MMO called The World.

You’ll be looking to find Tri-Edge, a player in The World who defeated your friend in battle, leaving them in a coma in real life. It’s very much your standard ‘kids in an MMO and bad things happen’ affair, honestly.
