343 shares a look at the Halo 3 PC port (and ODST)

Now that the Halo 2 beta is underway, the devs are already showcasing the next piece of the Master Chief Collection

Halo’s return to PC is now deep in progress – Halo Reach landed last year, Halo 1 hit in 2020, and the Halo 2 beta started a couple of weeks ago – and now it’s time to get a look at Halo 3 on PC. 343 Industries has shown off a set of work-in-progress screenshots revealing what to expect from both Halo 3 and its (excellent) spin-off, Halo 3: ODST.

You can scroll down a bit further to see those extremely lovely screenshots for yourself. “If all goes according to plan,” community manager Tyler ‘Postums’ Davis says in the latest development update, “it shouldn’t be too much longer now before Halo 2 officially releases on PC and then we’ll get ready for Halo 3 flighting!”

The blog also provides an update on what’s currently in development for the Master Chief Collection, including better UI, text chat, and an option for double key binds. Tests for improvements on the infamous audio issues are also coming soon. Options including input-based matchmaking and cross-play between PC and Xbox One are in the “backlog” for now.

As with Halo Reach, this is the first time Halo 3 or ODST are coming to PC – so it’ll be especially nice to see how these classics play with the benefits of mouse and keyboard.
