Halo Wars 2 unit models and music leak: see how the Spartans will look

Halo Wars 2

Footage has leaked on YouTube of what appear to be character renders and music for forthcoming sci-fi RTS Halo Wars 2.

If you like this sort of thing, you’ll probably like many of the best strategy games on PC.

The footage comes courtesy of channel Gamecheat13 and features static character renders of Covenant and UNSC infantry and vehicles, set to 14 minutes’ worth of changing music.

Among the units that can be identified are Covenant grunts, brutes and a Locust, and UNSC marines, spartans and a Grizzly tank, among many others. The unit models and music both seem to have been well-received in the comments.

Charitably, the video description reads “if this needs to be removed just ask”. If it’s a genuine leak of game assets that Microsoft or the developers don’t want in public yet, there’s every chance it will get taken down soon.

Halo Wars 2 is due for release on February 21, 2017, and will come to PC and Xbox One as part of Microsoft’s universal Windows platform scheme. Set in the same universe as the storied Halo shooter franchise, it is developed by Halo devs 343 and Creative Assembly, the people behind the Total War games.
