Get to know all the devious minions you’ll be playing with in Hearthstone Battlegrounds. Along with the 24 playable Hearthstone Battlegrounds heroes, you’ll also get a choice of cards that you can swap in and out between each round. You’ll only be able to lay seven cards on the board to fight your opponent’s hand and although all cards cost 3 coins to purchase from Bartender Bob, there are definitely cards that compliment each other and are worth looking out for.
While other auto-chess games present your minions as characters you can place on a board, Hearthstone Battlegrounds stays true to the card games’ roots by making minions and cards one and the same. This should make the learning curve easier if Battlegrounds is you first taste of this new genre.
All Hearthstone Battlegrounds cards have tavern tiers, ranging from 1-6. If any Hearthstone Battlegrounds cards are left on the board at the end of a single match, their tavern tier will be added to your hero’s current tavern tier and that will be the amount of damage you deal to the opponent. For example, if you have a minion left on the board with a tavern tier of three, and your hero has a tavern tier of three, then you’ll do six damage to the opponent. You can access higher tiered minions by upgrading your own tavern tier in between matches. There are also a certain amount of copies of each minion available in each game, found below.

Hearthstone Battlegrounds triple cards
If you purchase three of the same minion they’ll be fused into one minion called a triple card. triple cards keep any enchantments from previous cards, as well as doubling in stats and becoming a gold card. triple cards are added to your hand from the battlefield, allowing you to reuse battlecries. You’ll also get a special reward from a triple card, which means you’ll be able to discover one card from the tavern tier above yours.
