Heroes of the Storm alpha patch will invite players from outside the US

Heroes of the Storm line up

A blog post by Blizzard has announced that the next major patch to their universe-colliding MOBA, Heroes of the Storm, will invite players from outside the US. The invite waves will be cast as far as Europe, Latin America, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

If you want to make sure you’re eligible to receive access, then read on as we’ve got you covered.

Currently the Heroes of the Storm alpha has been largely exclusive to the US, with a few invites going outside for community personalities and press. Me and Tim were lucky enough to gain access, and you can read all about our impressions and watch one of our games over here.

Before the patch hits, it’s important to make sure you’re signed up to be eligible for access. Follow these simple steps to mark your account for an invite:

  1. Head over to your Beta Profile page on your Battle.net account.
  2. Once there, make sure you have the “Heroes of the Storm” checkbox checked. It should look like the image below:

Remember that this is the only way to gain access to the alpha. If you see any website offering keys, it’s most likely a scam.
