Hitman trailer tracks 20 year life between prologue and Paris mission

Hitman legacy trailer

Hitman’s just a couple of weeks away with official launch coming on March 11th, so you know what time it is: trailer time. The latest, extravagenetly titled the Legacy Opening Cinematic, charts what happens to 47 once the Prologue, which you may have played as part of the beta, is over. Through 20 years he kills, executes, murders or otherwise disposes of various targets, through locations that will be recognisable to those of you who played the other games in the series.

Are you all caught up on the best games of 2016 before even more come out?

That doesn’t include me, however, so I’ll just have to stare at it going “ooo, killin'” as is my fairly standard Wednesday procedure:

It comes with news that the beta will be returning, but only for PS+ members on PS4. If you happen to have that service but haven’t had a shot of the beta yet, it’ll be free on March 4th without having to pre-order. On that subject, Hannes Seifert of developers Io-Interactive had this to say:

“Our initial beta was an extremely helpful moment for our new HITMAN game, as it gave us great insight into how the server game mechanics function under pressure. A lot of those pressure points are currently being strengthened for release.” In general, it seems to have gone rather well as far as server performance goes, even if our own Meiks and others had problems getting it to run smoothly on decent graphics cards.

The PS+ beta will be the biggest stress test so far, but sadly isn’t being expanded for free use on PC. That Prologue, plus the Hitman Paris mission we took a look at two weeks back, form the Intro Pack version of the game that is launching on March 11th. Every month after that will see a new episode released containing more missions and contracts. You can have a look at the details on Steam.
