The Hollow Knight Silksong system requirements are well worth checking in on as they've just been updated, including the confirmed addition of ultrawide monitor support. Surprisingly, they have actually become more demanding, although most modern gaming PCs still won't struggle with the new requirements.
Hollow Knight Silksong asks for more from your PC than the original Hollow Knight system requirements from 2017, but not by much. As such, you definitely won't need the best gaming PC from our buying guide to get the game running, as just about any PC, laptop, or handheld from the last 10 years should be able to meet the game's entry-level specs.

It's very likely that Hollow Knight Silksong will wind up on our list of the best Metroidvania games if lightning strikes twice with the franchise and it lives up to its predecessor. Certainly as far as The Hollow Knight Silksong minimum requirements go, they indicate that the sequel is more of the same as the original. They call only for an Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti or AMD Radeon HD 7750 GPU, an Intel Core 83 3240 or AMD FX 4300 CPU, and 4GB of RAM, meaning virtually any modern device should be able to get the game running on its lowest settings.
In fact, the Hollow Knight Silksong Steam Deck status has already been confirmed, with the game rated as Verified. This means the game will run smoothly straightaway, with no need to tweak settings once installed on the handheld.
As for the Hollow Knight Silksong recommended specs, there's barely any challenge there either, unless you're using an ancient device. You'll only need an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon R9 380 GPU paired with an Intel Core i5 3470 processor and 8GB of RAM.
As mentioned before, these specs are on par with those from Hollow Knight when it released, so fans of the original should already know what kind of performance to expect. As for newcomers, the developer hasn't noted any performance expectations, but the frame rate calculator results over on PCGameBenchmark indicate that achieving 60fps shouldn't be an issue for most hardware setups.
What's more, the game's developers have confirmed via the XCancel social media platform, that the game will ship with support for ultrawide gaming monitors. This will allow owners of 21:9 aspect ratio displays, such as the Alienware AW3423DW, to appreciate the game across the full expanse of their screen, as demonstrated in the image below.

The Hollow Knight Silksong download size requires a measly 8GB of storage space, and doesn't seem to require an SSD over a traditional hard drive. It's still worth making the upgrade to an SSD for other reasons, such as vastly quicker loading times than hard drives, but it's not a necessity for this game. You can read our best gaming SSD guide if you want some recommendations for a suitable SSD upgrade.
