Your call is important to us: Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number delayed for “tweaks and polish”

Hotline Miami 2: drenched decor.

Dennaton Games’ sequel to celebrated fancy dress murder simulator Hotline Miami is to be lavished with extra attention before its release, the developers have revealed. It’s not expected to be ready until late this year – and might yet kick down the door of 2015.

“Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is still getting some final tweaks and polish,” tweeted Dennaton yesterday. “Expected to be ready for late 2014 or early 2015.

“Your patience is appreciated and will ultimately be rewarded with everything you hoped for and nothing like what you expected.”

It’s certainly true that the game won’t entirely resemble the one demoed to journalists last year. Dennaton removed a shock rape scene that featured in the 2013 Hotline Miami 2 demo, and told fans they were working to “fix it” for the final game.

Hotline Miami’s most recent public appearance was in Payday 2 DLC – a Dennaton-Overkill collaboration that exploited the two series’ shared enthusiasm for masks and lethal force.

What did you like about the original game? And what would you like to see the sequel engorged by?
