Does Hytale have an arachnophobia mode? Like millions of people worldwide, we're not massive spider fans here at PCGamesN. We understand their ecological value and think that webs are pretty neat, but we still don't like the thought of one anywhere near us.
While videogames offer ways to protect ourselves using armor and weapons, game spiders are often bigger and more grotesque than they are in real life, and they give us the heebie-jeebies. Hytale's spiders are surprisingly cute and fluffy, but we'd still rather see something else in their place, so if you're like us, here's how to toggle on the sandbox game's arachnophobia mode.
Hytale arachnophobia mode
Hytale's arachnophobia mode can be found in the settings menu, under the 'Gameplay' tab. Here, you can toggle the mode on and off, but you must return to the main menu for it to take effect.
As you can see in the image at the top of this page, Hytale's arachnophobia mode turns spiders into crabs, which makes them far less scary. Though, we certainly wouldn't want to stumble across poison-spitting crabs in real life…
Now that you have access to Hytale's arachnophobia mode, you can finally get rid of the spiders once and for all. While a crab may be the default spider skin with Hytale arachnophobia mode turned on, we're sure there will soon be plenty of Hytale mods coming to the crafting game that will offer up different options. Plus, don't forget to upgrade your Hytale weapons to be able to deal with spiders or crabs accordingly.
