How do you repair items in Hytale? As you make your way through the harsh world around you in Hytale, your equipment is going to take more of a beating than you ever will. Weapons fend off enemies, tools help you gather resources, and armor protects you from harm; all of that use will inevitably wear out your items.

Luckily, you can repair your precious Hytale weapons and most useful tools with a handy repair kit. When the lower left-hand corner of your Hytale screen is screaming at you that your broken items need repairing, though, it's not immediately obvious how to do so - but we're here to help.

How to repair gear in Hytale

To repair items in Hytale, you must craft or obtain a Repair Kit. You can craft a Repair Kit at a workbench with the following items: 2x Linen Scraps, 1x Iron Ingot, and 1x Light Leather.

By holding a Repair Kit and clicking the use button, you're shown a list of held items that can be repaired, including weapons, tools, and armor. The current durability of each item can be seen on the right-hand side of the list, so you'll never pick the wrong item mistakenly.

Fortunately, items don't fully break in Hytale; they simply become less useful. For example, an Iron Pickaxe that might only take two hits to break an ore block could instead take around seven or eight swings when broken. Repairing your gear isn't essential, but it's highly recommended as it will save you lots of time in the long run.

Now that you have the knowledge to repair items in Hytale, remember not to leave your Repair Kits at home (unless you're carrying or crafting a workbench and furnace on your adventures). Other items you'll need to improve your gear include Thorium and Cobalt, so read our guides to learn where to find them.
