What are the best Hytale weapons? Hytale's world is swarming with tough enemies; you aren't even safe above ground and in daylight. Bears, wolves, and skeletons can spawn around you at any time and can kill you as soon as you set foot out of spawn.
The first thing you need to do is get yourself kitted out with a sword and a pickaxe. From here, you can upgrade your loadout to include the most powerful weapons in the crafting game - but only once you've braved Hytale's dangerous underground world. Here's our pick of the best Hytale weapons and how to upgrade them.

Best Hytale weapons
The best Hytale weapon is a set of Mithril Daggers. Any set of Daggers will do; just remember to craft them using the highest-quality material you have available.
Thorium Daggers
The best set of Daggers to gear yourself up with throughout the main section of the game will be the Thorium daggers. Hytale Thorium is a relatively easy resource to get hold of once you've got basic tools and weapons, and with just six ingots, you can have a set of pretty green daggers. You also need to upgrade your Blacksmith's Anvil to tier two.
Daggers allow you to move quickly, and their charged attack is powerful against single enemies or groups. The timing does take some getting used to, as it does on all charged attacks, but our favorite move is leaping into the air and attacking from above. If you land a charged attack, you're sent flying away from your opponent, stopping them from retaliating right away.
While Cobalt Daggers are also a great choice, and Hytale Cobalt can even be easier to find compared to Thorium, the additional crafting ingredient of Shadoweave Scraps makes these daggers harder to get and therefore less appealing.

Iron Shortbow
The Iron Shortbow is the perfect secondary weapon to pair alongside a set of Daggers. Unless you've got plenty of Thorium to spare, you're better off saving Thorium and Cobalt for primary weapons, tools, and armor, as well as upgrading benches.
Since you won't use your bow as much, Iron is perfectly sufficient. Combine this with crude arrows, which you can also find in structures across the map and by killing ranged enemies.
Thorium Mace
If you aren't a fan of daggers, we recommend the Thorium Mace instead. The charged attack on the mace deals a devastating AoE ground pound, slamming into large groups of foes and making it ideal when pillaging enemy territory.
Just as with the daggers, we recommend the Thorium as it's relatively the most powerful while remaining resource-effective.

Other weapons
There are other powerful Hytale weapons, as seen in the vast creative mode inventory. However, we're not sure how to get your hands on these in survival mode yet. Weapons like the Void Scythe, Onyxium Daggers, and even a rifle appear in creative mode, and they're presumably dropped by high-tier enemies in survival. Except maybe the rifle? That might just be a creative mode special.

How to upgrade Hytale weapons
To upgrade your Hytale weapons, you must craft a workbench and then build a Blacksmith's Anvil. From here, you can begin to equip the best weapons available.
From a workbench, you can build a Blacksmith's Anvil from the crafting tab using the following items: 2x Copper Ingot, 10x Tree Trunk (Any), and 5x Stone (Any). These materials are all easy to obtain right from the start, including Copper, which can be found in cave entrances fairly close to ground level.
To get your hands on the best weapons, though, you must head underground, where you can find Iron, Thorium, Cobalt, and more.
Now you know which are the best Hytale weapons to equip, you'll be working towards that full Mithril set in no time. Among the monsters out to get you are deadly poisonous spiders, so check out how to toggle Hytale arachnophobia mode if that puts you off the sandbox game. And make sure you know how to repair your precious new arsenal.
