The need to pee is a powerful force of nature, it causes us to be more decisive, work faster, and achieve feats of humanity that an empty-bladdered person can only dream of. Developer Neocore seem to be tapping into this ancient power source in their upcoming ARPG, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing.
Each successful hit on your foes fills up a yellow bar, this vessel of hot yellow rage can then be expelled in a few devastating attacks. Sort of like a pub fight after three pints and no loo break, I’d imagine.
The footage does show off a couple of promising features, being able to queue up and combine your rage abilities, for instance. It’s like Neocore have found a halfway point between the sequential hotkey bashing of Diablo 3 and the magical hodgepodge of Magicka’s spell combinations.
One troubling thing on show in the video, however, was the size of the UI. The boxes seemed pretty vast and took up a good deal of the screen space.
The release date for The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing has yet to be announced, it’s currently got a wide window of “2013”.
