Octodad: Dadliest Catch footage shows how pre-wedding jitters are worse for cephalopods

Octodad: Dadliest Catch

Weddings can be stressful days at the best of times. Joining two families and sets of friends together is never going to be an easy thing, especially if you’re an octopus.

Developer Young Horses have released footage of an octopus’ wedding just so you never need to go through the same harrowing experience.

Young Horses have turned their original experimental game into a full-fledged release. Rather than simply put you into the shoes(?) of an octopus masquerading as a human you’ll now learn something of Octodad’s origin story. How he came to be married and a father or a human child.

The video shows off Octodad’s new art style. It’s got a wicked cartoony aesthetic to the whole thing. Apparently, it’s inspired by artwork from the 1950s, a time when suburban households all had something to hide.

It’s due out early next year, the developers are slippery when it comes to a specific date.
