Just Cause 3 is getting a multiplayer mod, just in case it wasn’t chaotic enough for you

On the lead up to release, Avalanche Studios said that they were looking at the modding community from Just Cause 2 for inspiration. Apparently this didn’t include the game’s most popular mod, however, because Rico’s Mediterranean murder spree is a lonely affair.

Like destroying things in creative ways? Here are the best sandbox games on PC.

Luckily, the team of modders who worked on Just Cause 2’s multiplayer mod – you know, the one that let over 1,000 players go mental in Panau – are hard at work on doing something similar for Just Cause 3.

If you’re not familiar with the original mod (available on Steam), have a look at it in action here:

That mod’s website broke the news of a mod being in development for Just Cause 3, along with a celebratory video much like the one above. See that in all its glory below:

“We’re incredibly excited to show off the progress we’ve made these last few weeks,” the team wrote in the official reveal. “Moving forward you can expect frequent updates on our progress along with exciting new developments as they happen.”

Avalanche were thrilled with the multiplayer mod for Just Cause 2, what with it extending the game’s life beyond expectations.

With all the crazy things you can do with Just Cause 3’s multi-tether, I can see this game staying on hard drives for even longer. Cow tennis, anyone?
