Just Cause 3’s incoming 1.02 patch will “significantly reduce” load times

Just Cause 3 is getting a new patch this week that should improve its painful loading times. Just Cause 3 encourages knockabout play and experimentation, but the load times detracted from that ethos a bit by punishing the player with a long wait whenever they died. This patch aims to fix that.

Just Cause 3 made its way onto our list of the best PC games – why not check out the rest.

The patch is 132.1MB and will include the following improvements:

  • Significantly improved loading times
  • Optimisations to online stats
  • General stability fixes
  • Fixed an issue related to challenges, wherein vehicles sometimes disappeared when starting a challenge
  • Fixed issues related to screen resizing and closing the game window before the game has fully started up

“Since launch, we’ve been pouring through your reviews and comments to help us prioritise our fixes accordingly,” Avalanche said in their patch notes.

“We know many of you have been patiently awaiting today’s patch, and this update is part of a much larger plan to optimise and improve the game. Thanks for your patience.”

It seems like it’s an ongoing effort to fix some of the technical issues the PC version suffers, but reduced load times are a welcome start.
