Katamari Damacy, the game about rolling things up into a growing ball, is getting a high def remaster this year, and this time around it’ll be coming to PC.
Bandai Namco announced Katamari Damacy REROLL this week. It’s a remaster of the unique puzzler that first appeared on the PlayStation 2 in 2004. The new REROLL version features new HD graphics and a new control scheme for the Nintendo Switch. This time around, though, it’ll also be available for PC.
Both versions will launch December 7, Bandi Namco said in a tweet.
Katamari Damacy spawned several sequels and spin-offs for consoles and mobile platforms, but this will be the first time any of the games has appeared on PC. It’s a strange game with a stranger story, but its unique mechanics and whimsical art style earned it a place in a permanent videogames collection displayed in New York’s Museum of Modern Art in 2012.
Bandai Namco provided links to pre-order the Switch version of Katamari Damacy REROLL at GameStop and EB Games. There’s no link to a PC pre-order site, but Bandai Namco typically releases its PC ports through Steam.
