La-Mulana 2 finally has a Steam page

La-Mulana 2

Comparing games to Dark Souls is something that Mustn’t Be Done these days, but in the case of La-Mulana, the similarities are unavoidable: they’re both cult hits that pride themselves on obscure rules and lore, surprising difficulty, and deeply-hidden secrets. While La-Mulana began as a freeware title in 2005, the paid 2013 remake generated enough buzz to fuel a successful Kickstarter for a sequel in 2014, and now, La-Mulana 2 has an official Steam page.

“Summer 2018: The ultimate Metroidvania is coming” the official La-Mulana 2 trailer boldly declares. This time around, the player is cast as Lumisa Kosugi, the daughter of the first game’s Lemeza Kosugi, the whip-cracking, fedora-wearing Indiana Jones stand-in. Lumisa has inherited her dad’s penchant for archaeological exploration – as well as his sense of style – and developer Nigoro promises this second adventure will be similarly full of puzzles, traps, and deadly enemies.

Head over to the La-Mulana 2 Steam page if you want to pop it onto your wishlist and get notified when it launches. I bounced off the first game pretty hard due to frustration and confusion, but it might be time to for a revisit.
