It only took me an hour, six years ago, to figure out that MapleStory was not for me. But it certainly floats a lot of boats, as it boasts pretty huge user numbers. While it’s evolved over the years, adding PvP and other MMO mainstays, the 2D side-scrolling MMO is about to make way for its successor, MapleStory 2.
Get a first look below.
MapleStory 2 has been in development since 2010 and makes the switch from 2D to 3D. Nexon is promising a new level of freedom, and lots of mini-games like car races and trying to stand on a platform that’s rapidly disintegrating. Sound like your cup of cute, anime tea?
A Korean closed beta is due this year, but Nexon hasn’t revealed any details about global betas. It will release worldwide, however, but Nexon has yet to hint at the schedule.
