Does Marathon have crossplay? Bungie's take on the extraction shooter finally lands this year, treating you to a bold, vivid take on graphic realism alongside the graphic reality of sending round after round of ammunition into a biosynthetic skin suit.

Marathon sets you and your homies down in the lost colonial world of Tau Ceti IV, where you'll have to put your FPS game skills to the test as you jostle for survival and the spoils that come with it. Perhaps more importantly, will you be able to access all of your hard-earned loot on other platforms with Marathon cross-progression? Marathon will support full crossplay across PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

When Marathon was formally reintroduced in April 2025, replete with a full content suite showcasing the game, Bungie not only revealed that the multiplayer game has gone multi-platform, but crossplay will be present, in full, across them.

Marathon cross-progression

Bungie has confirmed that Marathon will support cross-progression across PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S consoles. This feature was announced alongside crossplay back in 2023 and was highlighted once more with the April 2025 re-reveal.

This means any items you pick up during your sessions around the Marathon map will link to the same account. Likewise, any leveling progress you make with the Marathon classes, including all the rewards earned by working with the Marathon factions, will transfer to every platform the game is available on.

Keen to avoid a repeat of 2024's Helldivers 2 account linking debacle, Bungie, now owned by Sony, has made it crystal clear that no PSN account will be required to jump in. Presumably, Marathon progression will either be tied to your Bungie ID or it'll use the active account system present in Destiny 2.

And that's all you need to know about Marathon crossplay and cross-progression.
