Story details, screens, and the cast have been revealed for Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy

Telltale have released some details for their adaptation of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, revealing the setting, the cast, and how it’ll look on your monitor.

Check out our upcoming PC games list for more future hits.

The story is completely standalone, nothing to do with either the upcoming movie or the one that’s already out.

“In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power,” says the official announcement. “Each of them has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.

“From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, you wear the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, where your decisions and actions drive the story you experience.”

Sounds like your typical setup for a Telltale game, then. Here are some screens:

Nolan North will be reprising his role as Rocket Raccoon, after voicing the violent vermin in Disney Infinity. Elsewhere there’s Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series) as Star-Lord, Emily O'Brien (The Young and the Restless, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor) as Gamora, Brandon Paul Eells (Watch Dogs) as Drax, and Adam Harrington (The Wolf Among Us, League of Legends) as Groot.

The series will premiere this spring.

No Chris Pratt... This isn't really selling itself. It's hard to tell from some screenshots on whether or not TTG have moved to a new engine (art assets appearance have nothing to do with engine..), but if it's still running on the same old engine as The Wolf Among Us then I'll probably pass.

No Vin Diesel as Groot either, just won't sound the same.

Seriously though apparently their engine was largely upgraded for Batman and Walking Dead S03, but I haven't gotten around to either yet

I enjoyed TWD Season 1, but never got around to starting season 2. Have it installed, but I haven't watched any trailers of season 3 (atleast nothing until I play through s2 first). I may take a look at batman's gameplay. I heard reviews were sub-par, but it could be a way to find out if the gameplay experience is any better. Maybe they fixed it enough from the depressing state it was in for their earlier games.
