Tiny racing returns in Micro Machines World Series

Micro Machines World Series Codemasters PC

There’s nothing quite like deftly steering your RV around a few pool balls before accelerating up a ramp, flying off the table and smashing into a pizza. All of this and more will be coming to PC in Micro Machines World Series, scheduled for a spring release.

Spin some tires right now with our list of the PC’s best racing games.

As well as an adorable trailer video, featuring tiny fire trucks and ambulances, Codemasters have revealed a fair bit of detail regarding the game modes and aesthetics of the upcoming title. In a post on their official blog, the veteran studio explains that “as well as bringing to you the classic game modes like Race and Elimination, Micro Machines World Series will introduce a new style of game play to the series: Battle Mode. The all-new Battle Arenas will allow you to wreak mass destruction on a miniature scale against your friends or the AI.” The post goes on to to describe a fourth mode of play; “Team Play lets you work together using your vehicles’ unique skills with modes such as King of the Hill or Capture the Flag”.

Players will also find some recognizable toys trundling along the tracks. Thanks to a licensing deal with Hasbro, you can expect to be swerving your wheels around the likes of G.I Joe, Nerf, Hungry Hungry Hippos and Ouija to name just a few. The classic focus on multiplayer has also been retained with confirmation of both local 4-player support, as well as online races with up to 12 players.

At the moment only the console versions are available for pre-order, but the game is scheduled for a PC release sometime in April.
