Troy Baker and Nolan North chat about Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor has wormed its way into the list of upcoming games that I really can’t wait to get my hands on – something I really didn’t expect when it was first announced. Our Jules took it for a spin a wee while ago, and he’s of a similar opinion. Go and devour his Shadow of Mordor preview.

As well as looking like an entertaining action romp with some intriguing systems, the game also boasts two of the most prolific voice actors in the industry: Troy Baker and Nolan North. They make an adorable couple, and you can take a look at them chatting about their respective characters in this here video.

Between them, they must cover the majority of big games – and a few unexpected ones. Baker lends his voice to the Dragon in Lichdom Battlemage, for instance. And North’s a bit of a dark horse. He’s got the roguish protagonist voice down to a tee – encapsulated by Nathan Drake – but he frequently plays characters that you’d never think would have North behind them. Penguin from Arkham City immediately springs to mind.

While the pair have worked on a few projects before, Shadow of Mordor marks the first time they’ve worked together in a mo-cap environment.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is due out on September 30th in North America and October 3rd in Europe.
