It's safe to say that the Mindseye launch hasn't been what the developer expected, with numerous performance and optimization issues hampering the game despite the surprisingly high Mindseye system requirements. Even now, the game doesn't have full ray tracing support on PC, relying on Unreal Engine 5's Lumen system instead.
It's sad to say, but even if you have the best graphics card you can afford from our buying guide, it still might not be enough to secure great performance at 4K. As it stands, the Mindseye requirements sit on the high side, comparable to the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle system requirements. So, if you are looking at jumping into this game, don't expect your old and dusty gaming laptop or PC to get very far with it.
Here are the Mindseye system requirements:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
| OS | Windows 10 or later | Windows 10 or later |
| CPU | Intel Core i5 12400F AMD Ryzen 5 5600X |
Intel Core i7 13700K AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D |
| GPU | Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT |
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT |
| VRAM | 6GB | 12GB (Nvidia) 16GB (AMD) |
| Storage | 70GB | 70GB |
| RAM | 16GB | 16GB |
| Notes | SSD Required | SSD Required |
The Mindseye minimum requirements are roughly what you'd expect to run a modern UE5 game, but it's more than enough to catch out a lot of older or budget gaming PCs.
The good news is that upgrading to some of the best gaming RAM from our buying guide is one of the cheapest and easiest upgrades to aid your gaming PC's performance, but you'll still need at least an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT GPU and an Intel Core i5 12400F or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU to get the game running. Unfortunately, from our experience, this level of hardware won't save you from the extensive Mindseye technical issues, but the good news is that the developer is reportedly working on more fixes.
As for the Mindseye recommended specs, this is where the demands become shockingly high. You'll need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT GPU paired with an Intel Core i7 13700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU. That's a seriously hefty demand on the CPU side, and the GPU is pretty high-spec too for recommended specs.
There are no official ultra specs, but they'd presumably require cutting-edge components like an RTX 5090 plus 32GB of RAM, considering the demands of the game.
Hopefully, the Mindseye relaunch that the studio head has reportedly mentioned comes to pass and brings some major optimizations to the game. Otherwise, you may well need to consider a fairly major upgrade just to achieve 60fps on 4K with ray tracing enabled.
Mindseye is currently unsupported on the Steam Deck due to performance issues. This isn't particularly surprising given that early impressions showed frame rates struggling to reach 30fps even in quieter gameplay sequences, with major drops and stuttering during combat.
The Mindseye download size currently sits at 70GB of SSD space. Given how the rest of the system requirements have been handled, you'll need one of the best gaming SSD options on our guide to optimize game loading times.
