Minecon has been flung in the Lazarus Pit and resurrected. The celebration of all things blocky, after a year-long gap, will be returning to London this year, announced Mojang COO Vu Bui today.
Last year’s Minecon never got its day in the sun. “We want to make sure we can follow through with the event and we never want people to start planning to attend something that might not happen,” Bui said last year.
But this year the convention has been built on stronger ground, because it’s already got a date, and tickets will go on sale this month.
Tickets are expected to go fast, so they’ll be released in two batches, both with 5,000 tickets being sold. The date for the first batch hasn’t been announced yet, but it will be this month, and you’ll be able to get them here.
Minecon will kick off on June 4th and finish the following day.
Are any of you lovely lot considering a trip to London (or just down the road if you are already trapped there)?
