Yep, the latest build of Minecraft isn’t in snapshot form and it’s not strictly a new version, but it’s likely stable enough for you to enjoy some Christmas fun, courtesy of Mojang. Fireworks should now work properly and books can be enchanted.

As I reported before after looking into the latest snapshot, this update contains a Christmas surprise, but don’t follow that link unless you want a spoiler.
