Monster Slayers is out today, going on sale from 20:00 GMT. It’s a roguelike deck-building game that’s also sort of an RPG and clearly comes from a singular mind - that of solo developer Nerdook. To help you get a feel for the accessible mix of tactics and challenge that first landed him a huge browser game audience, we’re giving away 200 keys for games from his back catalogue - 100 copies of Vertical Drop Heroes HD, and 100 more of Reverse Crawl.
Vertical Drop Heroes is the predecessor to the roguelike part of the Monster Slayers formula - a procedural platformer with randomly generated stages. Reverse Crawl, meanwhile, comes with a clever tactical twist whereby you play the dungeon in a turn-based dungeon crawler. It’s worth pointing out that both are very well reviewed on Steam.
They’re worth owning - not only because they’re good, but because Nerdook’s offering 23% off Monster Slayers to anyone who already has either Vertical Drop Heroes and Reverse Crawl on Steam. It’s a discount that stacks with the 10% launch one - and if you’re good at maths, you’ll have worked out that means 33% - also known as a third - off in total.
For an opportunity to nab one or the other, just enter the competition via our widget below. You can participate in five different ways, and each one is worth an entry - so the more you do, the better your chances of getting a key. We ask for an email address so that we have somewhere to send your code if you win, and promise not to use it for nefarious spam purposes.
If you do find a key in your inbox, you can activate it as follows:
1. Launch the Steam Client and log into your account;
2. Click on the GAMES MENU;
3. Choose activate a product on Steam;
4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
