Mordheim: City of the Damned

Rogue Factor are adding the finishing touches to tactical RPG Mordheim, which exits Early Access this month. The game features four campaigns, one for each warband, and a new trailer shows off snippets from each, and the kind of heroes and villains you can expect to meet along the way.

The four Warbands you can take charge of are the Human Mercenaries, the Skaven of Clan Eshin, the Sisters of Sigmar, and the Cult of the Possessed. Among the ranks of these bands are heroes such as Luther Wolfenbaum, Bertha Bestraufrung, Fylch Sharptail and Merga Ottweiler, who will provide special abilities to help turn the tide of battle. You’ll need them too, since the streets of Mordheim are filled with not only enemy soldiers, but special monsters such as the Chaos Ogre and Alluress the Curator, too.

The campaigns, written by the Black Library’s Clint Lee Werner, will take you from the Temple of Sigmar to Count Steinhardt’s palace, and see you murder everything on the way. Procedural missions mean lots of replayability, and online should keep you going indefinitely should you wish.

This game is getting deeper by the day, I bought into it very early in the development, and was initially a bit disappointed. But loaded it up yesterday and saw that much has changed for the better. It reminds me of a turn based Vermintide with strong RPG elements. Very combat focused.
