Mortal Kombat X story trailer introduces new fighters who have emerged from the loins of old ones

Mortal Kombat X story trailer

Mortal Kombat isn’t just about breaking bones and smashing in faces – there’s always a delightfully crap story to roll your eyes at, too. Mortal Kombat X’s takes place 25 years after 2011’s installment, with a bunch of new faces who look a like old faces.

Check out the story trailer below.

It’s all very Mortal Kombat: The Next Generation. Cassie Cage, daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade (they really missed a beat when they didn’t name her Cassie Blade-Cage), is leading the new bunch of fighty folk, which includes Jax’s daughter, Jacqueline Briggs, and Takashi Takeda, descendent of Kung Lao.

You know what they say, a family that Mortal Kombats together…

The trailer also throws up a bunch of questions, like why does Sub Zero now look a lot like Kano without the metal face and is Scorpion sporting a beard as well?

Mortal Kombat X is due out on April 14th
