You don’t want to be the person who isn’t In The Know now, do you?

The best new PC games in 2023 are:

New PC games, Diablo 4

Diablo 4

Diablo 4 is the first 10/10 to grace the site in a long while, but in our Diablo 4 review, not much stands in the way of making this pitch perfect as news editor Lauren says, “Diablo 4 embodies the essence of what makes Diablo so great, taking the best elements of its predecessors and sewing them together to create an ever-changing, ever-evolving chimera that we can’t wait to play for years to come.”

If you don’t need any more convincing, then here are our Diablo 4 tips to get started, including which Diablo 4 class to pick, and whether Diablo 4 is coming to Game Pass.

New PC games, The Outlast Trials

The Outlast Trials

As you head to a secretive facility with the promise of a brighter future, that quickly fades as you’re forced into experiments of mind control and brainwashing.

To flee the facility and return to society, you and up to four friends must compete in a series of trials and challenges involving evading creepy monsters and making morally compromising decisions – all in the name of science.

New PC games, System Shock remake

System Shock remake

Though not much separates this from the original, the System Shock remake does bring forward the graphics and playability of the game, giving it a slight edge, and making it a thoroughly enjoyable FPS game. Though our System Shock remake review touches on the outdated mechanics the remake carries forward, there’s still a lot to love for newcomers to one of the best PC games of all time as you battle cyborgs in a frantic race to stop the destruction of Earth.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

The latest Capcom game to get the remake treatment is Resident Evil 4 and the remake does a fine job of recreating the magic of the original game. Always defined as being more action than horror, our Resident Evil 4 Remake review says that “This is the sweet spot between action and horror that Resident Evil has always strived to locate – Resident Evil 4 Remake in fact does it even better than RE4 (the first one).”

new games PC - Sons of the Forest

Sons of the Forest

In the follow up to the hugely popular survival game, The Forest, we’re landing back into cannibal territory to build, craft, explore, and survive the horrors and secrets of, well, the forest. Although the horror game is in early access, our Sons of the Forest review says it isn’t without its flaws and bugs, but “is an utterly engrossing game, and in losing myself in it, hours went by as I explored.”

You can expect much of the same if you played The Forest, but a harsher seasonal system, which makes surviving winter a bitter fight due to frozen lakes and dwindling resources, and somehow, the monsters and the caves they lurk in, feel much spookier. If you’re getting started, here are our Sons of the Forest tips, and everything need to know about the Sons of the Forest map.
