Nier: Automata’s launch trailer is wonderfully melodramatic

Nier Automata Launch Trailer

It’s finally coming out. To celebrate its console release and with the PC launch only a week away, Square Enix have shown off one final trailer for mental action RPG, Nier: Automata. With a choir singing in the background and characters talking about murdering God, Square Enix aren’t playing down just how bonkers Yoko Taro’s latest game is.

Have a read of our preview of Nier: Automata.

Showing 9S and 2B slicing up hundreds of robots, this launch trailer gives players a glimpse of some of the many bosses you’ll be fighting over the course of Nier: Automata. From colossal rogue oil rigs, to a mechanical sand worm and a tank covered in neon lights, you won’t be bored fighting against Nier: Automata’s multiple bosses.

The trailer also shows off a theme park area, with 2B fighting robots aboard a roller coaster while fireworks explode in the background. Knowing Yoko Taro’s penchant for pastiche and parody, expect to fight an evil animatronic that looks like a certain cartoon character that rhymes with Bickey Bouse.

As the game is out on console in the USA, be careful of spoilers if you are looking up stuff about Nier: Automata over the next week. Many of the game’s endings are starting to filter out on YouTube so if you want to avoid being spoiled, I’d be wary with the Google search.

Nier: Automata will release on Steam March 17 for $59.99/£39.99.
