Hello Games are “thinking about” VR support for No Man’s Sky

No Man's Sky VR

With EVE Valkyrie looking like Oculus’s best game and Elite: Dangerous proving a phenomenal experience when played using the Rift dev kit, any game where you fly a ship through space is going to get the VR question thrown at it. That’s exactly what happened when Edge sat down with No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games. And whilst they’re not promising anything, they certainly find the prospect exciting.

“I don’t know what I’m allowed to say,” says creator Sean Murray when quizzed about VR support. “It’s something we’re thinking about. Morpheus, Oculus… There’s nothing more cool and sci-fi than VR and a big procedural universe. I think that, for the people who want to just explore, and even for the space combat and things like that, it would be a good fit. Let’s put it that way.”

No Man’s Sky is releasing on PC and PS4, the two platforms pushing VR the most. Sony have invested a ton of cash into their Morpheus headset, and push No Man’s Sky so heavily you’d think it was a PS4 exclusive. Combined with Hello Game’s obvious excitement over the prospect, don’t be surprised if a VR announcement for No Man’s Sky is out there in the future.
