Nvidia Showcase: crank up Mirror’s Edge Catalyst to Hyper settings with GTX 1080 & 1070

Nvidia Mirror's Edge Catalyst

PCGamesN Nvidia Showcase posts are created in partnership with Nvidia.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, the visceral first-person free-running reboot of 2008’s Mirror’s Edge, is now available on PC and once again casts players as series protagonist Faith who embarks on a dangerous mission to overthrow the totalitarian rulers of the city of Glass.

Luckily, this time around Faith can take advantage of Catalyst’s completely revamped combat system as well as environmental objects including ziplines, mag ropes and other equipment in her surroundings that will help her topple her oppressors.

In addition to the new abilities Faith can utilize, the original game’s linear gameplay has been replaced with an open-world environment players can more freely explore. This enables players to execute a variety of different tactics and routes when attempting to successfully complete objectives in Mirror’s Edge Catalyst.

And while the game already boasts some truly gorgeous visuals, you can crank up the graphics even more to “Hyper” settings by playing it on a PC equipped with either a new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 or 1070 GPU. With a 10 series GPU, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst features a variety of next-gen visual flourishes including vastly improved reflections, visual effects, environmental maps, image based lighting, motion blur, resolution scale’s downsampling and overall better graphical fidelity in the game.
