Abe’s Oddysee remake, New ‘n’ Tasty, launched on PS4 way back in July, but the PC version has been in hiding, though it did make an appearance earlier in the month in a fully playable state.
So it’s on its way and will launch on Steam “as soon as possible,” says developer Oddworld Inhabitants. There’s no specific release date yet, however.
“We showcased the PC version of Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty to the public in Manchester, UK, in October. To the surprise of many players, it was the full game, playable all the way through. But we’re not quite finished with ensuring the game is fully optimised for all hardware, and have at least a couple of months left before release.”
The developer promises controller support, for the PC version, along with rebindable keys and a graphics setting slider.
With a private Steam beta being considered, you might be able to play it prior to launch. Oddworld Inhabitants says there will be more details on a potential beta soon.
The PS4 version was well received for merging the original game with the trappings of modernity, making a few changes here, a few improvements there, and it’s been very hard not to just break down and grab it for my underused console.
