The citizens of Cities Skylines 2 are either incredibly stupid, and just don't know how to use parking lots, or they're all evil geniuses, who've jointly conspired to annoy me in the most excruciating way possible. I spend hours building their roads. I make sure they have bus lanes. I check the heat maps to ensure proper traffic flow. But still - still - they insist on parking their cars on the side of the street. In Age of Empires, I can build a castle, cultivate a kingdom, and win a decades-long war. In Civilization 6, I can take over the world. But in Cities Skylines 2, all I want to do is build one efficient parking lot. Inspired by that humble quest, Parking World is a new Steam strategy game puts vehicles at the center.
At the beginning, it's just you, an empty lot, and some barrier tape. Pick a good spot, keep the prices low, and build some basic amenities, and soon you can start to create the parking lot of your - and your customers' - dreams. Parking World is an intensely detailed simulation and strategy game - it's all about the little things. The water and electricity systems need to run flawlessly. You've got to have enough ticket booths so people aren't queuing. You want a lot of spaces, so you can cram in more cars, but make them too narrow and too close to one another, and your rating will plummet by multiple storeys.
Everything needs to be closely planned, strategized, and executed. From hiring workers to managing cleanliness, paying taxes, and even choosing the right vending machines, Parking World drills into every possible detail. There are even scenarios and quests, which challenge you to create the perfect lot to facilitate major events like the opening of a new mall or a major football game.
If you're a seasoned Cities Skylines 2 player and you want to go deeper into one of its tougher challenges, Parking World is on Steam right now. Just head here.
