Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare micro-transactions are cheap but pointless

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare micro-transaction prices

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is due out on June 24th. It’s also grown micro-transactions, likely thanks to a change in water and plant food. EA announced the addition to the not free-to-play game last month, and it’s already come into effect.

The cost of in-game currency is not astronomical, nor is buying this stuff necessary to progress. But it’s worth remembering that Garden Warfare already costs money to buy.

Coins are available for the following amounts:

  • 13,500 coins: £0.79
  • 30,000 coins: £1.59
  • 85,000 coins: £3.99
  • 200,000 coins: £7.99

Coins can be spent on various packs, ranging in price and quality. Standard packs with random items cost between 1,000 and 5,000 coins, while ultra rare characters can be unlocked by buying a 40,000 pack, which works out to about £2.

The micro-transaction update went live for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the game, and it would be surprising if the price of coins was changed for the upcoming PC release.

Cheers, Eurogamer.
